Nudist landed clubs – why is the membership sagging?

According to a recent report published by a leading survey company, the membership base of nudist landed clubs has been declining. According to the American Association of Nude Recreation (AANR), a nakation or a nude vacation offers a relaxing, stress free and fun-filled experience that increases self-esteem. However, in the recent years the definition of nudism has certainly changed.
As a matter of fact, the fine line between nudism and exhibitionism has erased and now you'd find a lot of people gawking at your genitilia, which is not what naturism was known for when it first started in the 1900s. Nudism originated as form of lifestyle that could help people learn self worth and mark an end to discrimination based on physical traits.

Non-sexual nudism that was started in 1929 is on a sharp decline. One of the reasons for this is the lack of a younger audience. According to official figures issued by the American Association for Nude Recreation, the membership has declined by as much as 30 percent. Nicky Hoffman, co-owner of The Naturist Society believes that nudist resorts have turned into retirement homes over a period of time. He also claims that this culture would die a slow death unless they manage to attract a younger audience.

According to The Australian naturist Federation, the membership base has declined from 10000 members during its peak phase in the 1960s to about 3000 members now. However, it has been estimated that about 9 percent of the population continues to indulge in some kind of nudist activity.
As the membership base of these nudist landed clubs decline over the years, naturists continue to flock to places they haven't visited earlier. People now participate in activities such as skydiving, snorkeling, underwater diving, surfing or even trekking that give them an opportunity to have fun while wearing minimal clothing. There is even an annual naked rugby event organized in New Zealand.

The traditional activities of nudist clubs are no longer enjoyed by younger naturists. They are ready to go all the way and participate in activities they would have done wearing clothes. Nudist recreation has certainly been redefined, thanks to various travel planners and tourism agencies, which has had a detrimental impact on the overall membership base of these nudist sites.

The inception of nudist dating too seems to have had an impact on this. Earlier, people used to visit such clubs to connect with like-minded people from across the globe. However, things have changed over the years and they prefer a dedicated nudist dating site over real world dating. These sites give all the convenience that you'd get in the real world. From communication options to advanced search filters, these sites have them all.
